If the first half was any indication, it looked like the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets had the Wheeler Wildcats right where they wanted them. The Yellow Jackets made a few mistakes, but the Wildcats didn’t seem to be able to put together any drives. Sprayberry scored on their first two drives with rushing TDs, but that’s where their scoring ended until the third quarter.
Wheeler regrouped at halftime and was able to put a TD in each quarter of the second half, but it was too little too late. Sprayberry scored a third TD after the halftime break and the game ended with a final of 14-21 in favor of the Yellow Jackets. Wheeler put up a great second half fight, but getting two scores behind at the beginning of the game proved to be too much for the Wildcats to overcome.
