It was a packed house at Pope Stadium as the Greyhounds hosted the Lassiter Trojans. Pope scored midway through the first quarter and once more before the half to own the game at half 14-0.
Both marching bands put on a great show at halftime, but the Greyhounds were ready to get back on the field. Mistakes dogged both teams in the second half, but Lassiter just couldn’t overcome mental mistakes. A long field goal in the third quarter seemed to spark some enthusiasm, but didn’t last long. The teams traded punts and penalties until Pope finally put together a fourth quarter drive that ended the dry spell for the Greyhounds. One final FG before the final whistle blew made the final score 24-3 for the home team.
