On Wednesday, December 18, Pebblebrook High defensive end Quincey Miller signed his commitment letter to continue his education and play football for the Troy Trojans. Troy University is a Division 1 school located in Troy, Alabama, about 30 miles south of Montgomery.
Quincey has played for the Falcons since his freshman year in 2016. He had a standout 2019 season, being named Pebblebrook’s Defensive Player of the Year, as well as first team all-region for 2-7A. Quincey also won all-county honors in 2018. Quincey joins a loaded recruitment class for the Trojans that should make them competitive for years to come.
Pebblebrook’s head coach, Leroy Hood, has great admiration for Quincey. “Quincey is an outstanding young man,” he said. “He does everything the right way and leads by example. He is well-deserving of this opportunity to further his academic and athletic career at Troy. He’s the perfect person to represent Pebblebrook and be an ambassador for all of Cobb County. Troy is getting a gem!”
Quincey’s academic performance and his demeanor off-the-field also generate praise from Pebblebrook administrators. Principal Dr. Dana Giles said, “Quincey is an excellent example of what it is to be a student-athlete at Pebblebrook High School. His 3.4 GPA and all of his athletic accomplishments set the perfect example for his current teammates and all future Falcons.” Athletic Director Brittny Jones agreed, “Quincey is one of the most hardworking and humble student-athletes I have ever been around on any level. His integrity and commitment to excellence will take him a long way throughout college and into adulthood. The Pebblebrook Community is proud of Quincey!”
Quincey’s family was on-hand for his signing ceremony and they couldn’t be more proud of all their son has accomplished during his Pebblebrook career. His mother, Cynthia, had this to say: “Learning is a gift, even if pain is the teacher. I am proud of all that Quincey has accomplished in his high school career and look forward to what is in store for his future.”
We couldn’t agree more. Quincey makes Pebblebrook and CCSD proud. We look forward to watching his next-level play as a Troy Trojan! Congratulations and great job, Quincey!
