It was another impressive win by the Harrison Hoyas with a final score of 45-25 over Winder Barrow Bulldogs. The night was cold and rainy, but this didn’t dim the enthusiasm of the Hoya home crowd. Harrison will now continue on with their undefeated season to their hopes of going to state.
In the first half Harrison’s offense was a little off, but by the second half David Roberts led them to a seemingly easy win.
First half highlights include: Jay Ziglor blocked a punt on Winder Barrow. The 1st touchdown for the Hoyas was a 1-yard TD made by Brandon Godfrey. The kick by Christian Lowry was good.
A slight bump in the road for the Hoyas with a fumble recovered by Winder Barrow for a touchdown though they missed the extra point. Soon after David Roberts scores his first of four touchdowns as well as a big touchdown pass from Gavin Hall to Mason Babay. Harrison fumbled the snap but recovered it. Winder Barrow then makes their first of two 45-yard field goals.
Second half: Jay Ziglor fumbled the ball in the first play of the second half and the Bulldogs recovered it. Malaki Taft follows with a 35-yard run approximately. Christian Lowry makes a 38-yard field goal following another touchdown by David Roberts.
With a 4th and 2, Winder Barrow failed to convert. David Roberts scored yet another touchdown. Harrison fumbled the ball and the Bulldogs scored a TD. Harrison gets back the ball and David Roberts scored his fourth TD, a 60+ yarder to finish out the game with a 20-point win by Harrison.
Harrison hosts Brunswick at home for the second round of the playoffs on November 22, 2019.
