CCSD swimmers and divers competed at the state level last weekend at Georgia Tech. Several individual swimmers and divers won state medals and one school took the overall state championship in their classification.
The Lassiter Trojan Girls Swim and Dive team took the overall state championship in 7A. Lassiter Girls also registered several team champions for the 200-Yard Freestyle Medley and the 200-Yard Medley Relay. The Freestyle Relay team won with a time of 1:36.22 and included Elizabeth Blanco, Allison Brown, Frances Carson, and Linsey Johnson. The Medley team won with a time of 1:47.34 and included Elizabeth Tilt, Elizabeth Blanco, Kennadi King, and Linsey Johnson. Elizabeth Tilt also won an individual championship medal for the Trojans in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 54.85 seconds.
Kennesaw Mountain had two individual champions. Kyler Dixon took first in the 7A 1-Meter Dive, and Connor Haigh took the 7A Boys gold in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 55.17.
Two more divers brought home gold for CCSD. Hannah Stumpf took first in 6A Girls 1-Meter Dive and Alex Scott from Harrison took first in 6A Boys in 1-Meter Dive.
