The Osborne Cardinals entered their first game of the 2019 season against the Therrell Panthers confidently, hoping to snap their 20-game losing streak. Unfortunately, a fumbled kickoff in the first quarter that led to a Cardinal turnover in the red zone seemed to set the tone for the rest of the game.
Although there were several bright moments for the Cardinals in the next 40 minutes of play, they never seemed to get anything going. Therrell’s defense shut down any hopes of offensive momentum, and the Cardinal defense just didn’t match well with the Panthers’ offensive speed.
The final score was 32-7 in favor of the Panthers. The Cardinals’ next game is August 30 against KIPP Atlanta at Grady Stadium.
