Cobb County School District will be well-represented across the eastern and central United States in the upcoming seasons of college play. 82 student-athletes will disperse to 18 different states next year with scholarships to learn and play at the college-level. (See map above)
Kennesaw State University signed 7 athletes, making KSU the destination for the largest block of students. Lacrosse was the sport that generated the most signers, with 18. District Athletic Director, Don Baker, was very pleased with all the signings. “This is a great testament to the student-athletes, coaches, administrations, staffs, and parents in the district,” Baker said. “It is always a great day when all these different parties get to share such an accomplishment.”
Student-athletes from Allatoona, Campbell, Harrison, Hillgrove, Kell, Kennesaw Mountain, Lassiter, McEachern, North Cobb, Pope, South Cobb, Walton, and Wheeler high schools make up the 82. With such a diversity of talent spread around the county, it is no wonder that Cobb County Schools are such popular places for college recruiters to visit.
This is a great start to “signing season,” which will continue throughout the year. Football has early signing beginning on December 18, and continuing though April, so we can be sure that CCSD will continue to watch its homegrown student-athletes sign on for college athletics throughout the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
Congratulations to all signers from all schools. We are proud of each one of you and know that success awaits you at your various colleges. Great job!
