Region 6 is an all-Cobb Schools region in the 6A classification. It contains 9 teams from all over the District. It is also very deep with basketball talent as last week’s region tournament made evident. During the finals on Saturday, it was announced which players and coaches were being recognized for their outstanding contributions this season.
Three categories were announced: All-Region team, Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year. Votes were made by the region’s coaches.
After Kell beat Sprayberry to take the region championship, the All-Region girls team was announced (see below). Sprayberry’s Flau’Jae Johnson was awarded Player of the Year, and her head coach, Kellie Avery, was recognized as Region 6 Coach of the Year. Here is the list of the 6-6A Girls All-Region team:

Later in the evening, following the exciting double-overtime boys final game, the Boys 6-6A All-Region team was announced (see below). Scoota Henderson was named as the region Player of the Year, while Kell’s Jermaine Sellers and Wheeler’s Larry Thompson were named as Co-Coaches of the Year. Here’s the complete boys All-Region team:
